Pest Control
At Brisbane Carpet Cleaning we offer a wide range of tailored pest management solutions.
We use the latest methods and techniques to provide you with safe, effective and environmentally friendly solutions.
We hold full Queensland Health Pest Management Technician Licensing and General and Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We use the integrated pest management (IPM) approach to pest control.
There are three main elements to this approach:
1. Cultural Control
2. Physical Control
3. Chemical Control
After an initial site inspection we will formulate a pest management plan to solve your problem.
We only use the highest quality pesticides including Biflex, Termidor and Phantom.
They are odourless and completely safe.
Ants
Internally we use Phantom insecticide.Phantom is a major breakthrough in pest control technology. Phantom is undetectable to pests meaning they do not avoid the treated areas and will pick up a controlling dose without even realising it. It is the only undetectable, non repellant liquid treatment on the market that can be used inside the home.
We apply Termidor to the exterior foundation walls of the home and around possible access areas to the interior of the home to create an undetectable zone. Its unique 'Transfer Effect' then allows ants to pass Termidor on to their nest mates who have not even come in contact with the treated areas.
It treats the problem at the source, the nest, and can reduce and eliminate overall ant numbers quickly. In combination Phantom and termidor form the most comprehensive ant control treatment program on the market today.
Cockroaches
Cockroaches usually reside in dark, humid places and are mostly nocturnal. They will eat just about anything including any human food or drink, pet food, dead animals and plant matter. Only six Cockroaches are serious pests to homeowners in Australia.
They are : German Cockroach (Blattella Germanica) Australian Cockroach (Periplaneta Australasiae) Oriental Cockroach (Blatta Orientalis) Smokybrown Cockroach (Periplaneta Fuliginosa) Brownbanded Cockroach (Supella Longipalpa) American Cockroach (Periplaneta Americana) A cockroach control program may include internal and external application of liquid sprays, dusts and gels including growth regulators.Dusting of roof void.
Fleas
Fleas are small parasitic insects that rely on blood for their nutrition, but can survive for several months without it. They prefer warm and humid climates and typically become a serious pest in the summer months. A flea control program may include: Internally-treat harbourages such as carpets and those areas where pets rest or sleep with a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide spray containing an insect growth regulator. Externally-treat all external areas such as subfloors, gardens, lawns, verandahs, window frames, eaves, patios, garages, pet areas etc.
Rodents
The three common pest species of rodents found in Australia are: Norway Rat Roof Rat Common House Mouse They transfer disease by contaminating food, food preparation areas and utensils through contact with their fur, urine and droppings. They are prolific breeders with a brief life cycle.Mice can fit through a 6mm opening.Rats can fit through a 13mm opening. A Norway rat can gnaw through a lead pipe. Rats are creatures of habit whereas mice are more adventurous. A rodent control program may include: Baiting, monitoring and trapping.
Silverfish
Silverfish prefer damp, moderate temperature places such as basements, laundry rooms and under sinks. They will almost anything, such as, dried beef, flour, starch, paper, gum, glue, cotton, linen, rayon, silk, sugar, molds, breakfast cereals, wall paper paste, books and papers. A silverfish control program may include: A liquid spray to accessible areas.A dusting to accessible areas. A dusting to roof void and wall cavities.
Spiders
Only a few spiders are actually harmful to humans. The majority are simply guilty of scaring us with their appearance! Spiders generally enter buildings through gaps in the construction like unscreened windows or spaces between doors and floors. Check bedclothes each night and if you leave clothes on the floor, shake them before getting dressed. Switch off unneeded lights at night because they attract the insects that are food for spiders. Check pots and garden furniture before bringing them indoors. Educate children about the danger of the Funnel web, White Tail and Redback in particular. Seal cracks and crevices around door frames, cupboards, pipes, tiles. A spider control program may include: Application of liquid spray base of internal and external walls, eaves, weep holes, cracks and crevices. Dusting of roof void.
Wasps
Wasps are most active in the warmer summer months. Take care with open soft drink cans, especially during summer. Wasps love sweet liquid and this may lead to stinging of the mouth or throat with potentially serious consequences including respiratory obstruction. Never approach a wasp nest, as they are more likely to be aggressive when defending the nest. A wasp control program may include: A liquid spray to nest. Spraying of eaves and potential nesting sites.
